2017 Cars for Christmas Mega Lottery

RAFFLE RULES

  1. Tickets will not be sold to persons under the age of 18. Ticket Sellers must advise adult ticket buyers not to write the name of a person under 18 years of age on the ticket.
  2. There will be two Early Bird Draws. The first will be held on Nov 15, 2017. Cutoff for early bird draw ticket sales is Nov 10, 2017 at 9pm. The Early Bird Draw will consist of 6 cash prizes. 1 prize for $5,000 and 5 prizes of $1000. The second Early Bird Draw will be held on Dec 13, 2017. Cutoff for early bird draw ticket sales is Dec 8, 2017 at 9pm. The Early Bird Draw will consist of 6 cash prizes. 1 prize for $5,000 and 5 prizes of $1000. For each Early Bird Draw the $5,000 cash prize will be drawn first and followed by the 5 x $1000 cash prizes. The ticket drawn for the $5,000 cash prize will be returned to the draw barrel for the 5 x $1000 cash prizes. Tickets drawn for the 5 x $1000 cash prizes will not be returned to the draw barrel until the next draw date. All draws will take place at Centre 2000 – 11330 106 st, Grande Prairie, Alberta. The final draw will be held on January 5, 2018. Tickets sales will cease at 9 p.m. on December 29, 2017.
  3. Tickets can be purchased online, over the phone or at the sales venues. Visa, Mastercard, Debit, Cash and Chq will be accepted. Online and phone orders must have a valid Visa or Mastercard. Cheque payments will be accepted and processed up until the ticket sales cut offs for both the Early Bird Draws and Final Draw. Cheque payments received after the ticket sales cut off for the Early Bird Draw will be processed for the final draw. Cheques received after the final sales cut off will not be processed and will be returned to the customer.
  4. All members of the Swan City Rotary Club are eligible to purchase tickets. The lottery Manager, Financial Controller and Volunteer coordinator will not be eligible to purchase tickets.
  5. No draw date extensions shall be requested once enough tickets have been sold to cover the cost of prizes and expenses.
  6. The first ticket drawn will win the 1st prize, the second ticket drawn will win the 2nd prize, and the third ticket drawn will win the 3rd prize and so on for the remainder of the prizes number 4 to 100.
  7. Winning tickets for Prizes 1-100 will be returned to the draw barrel for subsequent draws. For identical prize draws, the winning tickets for those identical prizes will not be returned to the draw barrel until another type of prize is drawn for.
  8. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. Cash equivalency will not be allowed.
  9. All prizes are deemed new by retailers involved, even when and including if displayed to aid in the sale of tickets (ie: on display at the Prairie Mall) shall be the prize awarded and shall be accepted “as is”.
  10. All trips must be taken as advertised and are valid until January 31, 2019.
  11. There will be a total of 517 prizes - total retail value including GST is $440,777.42 including 405 Scratch & Win Prizes that total $25,000.
  12. Scratch & Win Cash winners of $50.00 (350) or $100 (50) may claim their prizes at ticket venues, or by mailing the stub to the lottery office - #102, 8930 111 street, Grande Prairie, T8V 4W1. Winners of the $500.00 (5) cash prizes may claim prizes by legibly filling out the back of the ticket stub and mailing it to the address on the stub. These winners will be issued a cheque for their cash amount.
  13. Unclaimed prizes will be kept for one (1) year, and then dispersed as per AGLC Raffle Terms. In the event a winner cannot be located within a year of the draw, the organizing committee will apply to A.G.L.C. to donate the unclaimed prize back to the organizing committee or another charitable organization.
  14. In the event that not all tickets are sold before the draw date, the cash from any unsold winning Scratch & Win tickets will be entered in the final draw on January 5, 2018, to be drawn after prizes 1 to 100. The prizes will be drawn in order based on largest value(s) first to least value.
  15. Vehicle mileage may include mileage incurred while transferring vehicles from venue to venue for the purpose of ticket sales. All vehicles/prizes must be picked up by the winners at the respective dealers in Grande Prairie, AB. No deliveries will be made.
  16. Not included with prizes/vehicles are any insurance, any licenses, or license plates. Any prize requiring installation, the installation costs are not included with prize. Gift Certificates not redeemable for cash.
  17. No Refunds will be given to any ticket buyer requesting a refund.
  18. The number of tickets printed for sale will be 1600 at $50.00 each (red): 10,000 sets of discount tickets available for 3 for $100.00 (30,000 - green). Total number of tickets printed 31,600
  19. Tickets will be sold and advertised within the Province of Alberta. This does not exclude people coming into the province to purchase tickets.
  20. Prizes won by a deceased person will be awarded to their estate.
  21. Following the draw smaller prizes such as Gift Cards and Un-sold Scratch n’ Wins will be mailed to the address on the winning stubs. The Cars for Christmas Lottery is in no way responsible for the item, if it is lost in the mail. Prizes will not be mailed to a “General Delivery” address.
  22. To claim a prize, the winner must present photo identification with same address as on ticket stub and sign a prize release form.
  23. A person who does not own a ticket or share of a ticket in the draw will make all draws. The draw will comply by all the AGLC rules.
  24. In the event a winning ticket stub has more than one name on it, the licensed charity shall award the prize to only one of the individuals identified on the ticket, and that the licensed charity and the AGLC are not responsible for any disputes which may arise between the different individuals whose names appear on the ticket stub.
  25. Prize # 7 – 10 Night Caribbean Cruise for 2 includes:
    • Roundtrip airfare from Grande Prairie to Fort Lauderdale or Miami to board the cruise to the Caribbean
    • Transfer from the airport to pre cruise hotel and transfer from pre cruise hotel to cruise ship terminal
    • One night pre cruise hotel accommodation
    • 10 nights sailing the Caribbean in a verandah cabin
    • Breakfast, lunch, dinner as well as snacks are included
    • Coffee and tea included but winner will be responsible for purchasing any other beverages directly from cruise line

  26. Prize # 8 – Trip for 4 to Disneyland (2 adults & 2 children) includes:
    • Roundtrip airfare from Grande Prairie to Los Angeles for 2 adults and 2 children (under age of 18)
    • Roundtrip airport to hotel transfers
    • 5 nights accommodation in one room at the Howard Johnson family hotel or similar
    • 3 days Park Hopper passes for Disneyland and California Adventure Park
  27. Prize # 9 – Edmonton Oilers Hockey Package for 4 includes:
    • Roundtrip airfare from Grande Prairie to Edmonton or from Calgary to Edmonton for 4
    • Two rooms for one night at the Matrix Hotel located downtown Edmonton
    • Four tickets to game located in Section 126, Row 26, Seats 3 – 6
    • Vouchers may not be redeemed for cash and must be used as won
    • Oilers tickets are for regular season games ending early April 2018 or early April 2019. Package does not apply for playoff or specialty games
    • Minimum of 15 days advanced booking required


    • CONSIDERATIONS ON THE ABOVE TRIPS:
    • Taxes and GST are included in final costs
    • Vouchers may not be redeemed for cash but may be used as a travel voucher for lottery cost of trip.
    • Vouchers are valid until Jan 31, 2019.
    • Certain travel dates and restrictions may apply. Travel not valid between Dec 15th – Jan 10th 2018 or Mar 28th – Apr 10th, 2018.
    • Passports are mandatory for all international travel. For Mexico your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after expected return. For Croatia your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after expected return date.
    • Reservations must be made within one year from the draw date.
    • Advance booking requirements are 90 days in advance.
    • It is recommended that the winner purchases cancellation/ trip interruption and medical insurance which will be at the winner’s expense.

  6. Prize will be awarded with a Cheque.
  7. There will be one Cash draw for half the amount of the “Bonus Cash” sold. Minimum cash is $50,000 up to a maximum of $125,000 cash.
  8. Unclaimed prize will be kept for one (1) year from draw date, and then dispersed as per AGLC Raffle Terms. In the event a winner cannot be located within a year of the draw, the organizing committee will apply to A.G.L.C. to donate the unclaimed prize back to the organizing committee or another charitable organization.

  10. The number of tickets printed for sale will be 802 at $10.00 each (orange), 6900 at 3 for $25.00 (Purple), 23,060 at 5 for $40.00 (Blue). (Total number of tickets printed 30,762).
